Where does this lullaby come from?
A traditional Irish lullaby set in the west of Ireland against the Atlantic Ocean. It serves the double function of a song of the sea, an invocation to protect those we love who are out in the currachs (boats) and to guide them back home safely. I learned it as a child growing up in Ireland, and as my dad is a fisherman I loved singing this song at bedtime.
